04/24/08 The Epic Ventures Motorsports Group and our associate teammates are embarking on several new adventures in 2008. Our main efforts in the SST Modified class continue to be led by driver Terry Cheetham in the updated 1996 Troyer chassis #5 now powered by Gail Clark Engines out of Dushore PA. Gail has been a patient advisor to our team helping us understand what it takes to run more competitively in 2008. Our plans are to run 3-5 SST special events around Upstate NY and fill in with a semi-regular attendance at Spencer Speedway.

Terry continues to own and operate his #11 ROC Modified with his main attention being the Modified specials at Spencer Speedway. New for 2008 will be a 2003 Troyer ROC Modified, an addition to the Epic Venture stable of machines. Terry will be the primary driver with the team’s hopes that this car will provide a more competitive element to our efforts at tracks like Dunn Motorsports Park (Lancaster) and Oswego. Our plan is to begin testing in mid June at Spencer Speedway.

These improvements have caused a change in team owner, Tom Fecteau’s plans. The #50 had gone through an upgrade over the winter and has been put up for sale. If the car is not sold quickly we will complete the assembly process and Tom will make a hand full of events at Spencer Speedway until the car is sold.

Thankfully Terry’s dad, Doug Cheetham, remains heavily involved in the day to day work needed to keep our team moving forward. We look forward to the continued contributions of our main crew members “Stymie”, John Fecteau, Cathy Salber, Bob Tryka and Kris Hillegeer and all the people that help us in so many ways.

Our associate teammates have been busy as well. Jody London and Kris Hillegeer are participating at the Spencer Speedway Mall show in Rochester. Jody hopes to run more often in 2008 at Spencer and raise the bar on his over all performance and reliability. Kris will be in a “run for fun” mode with his potent Super Six entry as we work with him on stepping up to a higher class in the near future. We believe that Kris’ driving talent, mechanic skills and chassis knowledge will prove a positive upgrade for any team.

Crew Member Bob Tryka has been collecting parts and building a Street Stock that he hopes to campaign in 2008. We are looking for ways to help Bob complete the construction of his racer and experience the thrill of seeing his labor of love run near the front.

We have some additional news coming regarding our marketing and sponsorship efforts where we will be working to have a greater impact on sales from our joint efforts.
